In today’s modern time fashion plays a significant role in the lives of most people since it helps them fit in or stand out of the crowd. Now a day people purchases clothes on trends basis not because of their need. Fashion trends changes every month. Because of that after using the clothes twice or thrice we either throw them or just put them in the wardrobe and never use them. The consequence is that we are polluting more and more .
The workshop aims at adding value and extending the life of otherwise short lived fashion clothing. The objective of this workshop is to introduce the concept of timeless, trendless plus zero wastage clothing.
GARMENT BRIEF AND INSPIRATION
To make a fully hand stitched over garment which is personalized, hand stitched, season less, gender fluid and freesize. I decided to make a long overcoat with a shawl collar which is reversible and has a patchwork which creates puckering and some texture on it. The colour of rust and olive is chosen intentionally because it shows organic mood. Also I decided to make the sleeve three-fourth size which give a classic look to the garment. The fabric chosen is khadi which is hand spun and handwoven and kora dhaga was used for stitching so that no chemical is introduced to the garment
final outcome : A value- added personalized reversible overcoat
